Namaste!
I have finally made it to Nepal š
It is so very beautiful here and also hot and humid. Being from the Pilbara the heat is not actually an issue but the humidity is.
Now, I am absolutely safe and in about an hour I will be meeting up with the volunteer programme and I am so excited!!!
Before the volunteering actually begins we'll spend 3 days doing orientation/training, a tour of Pokhara and a cooking class where we'll be making momos (dumplings).
I was going to have a rant about flights etc because I feel like that's just expected of me at this point and I think it makes people laugh, which I love to do, but I'm not going to do that here. I'll just say, thank God for noise cancelling headphones!
Does anyone else really like the uniforms the air hostesses wear, especially for Asian airlines? They're always so colourful and pretty and on point. Oh and this made me laugh, on the tiny flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara someone was sitting in my allocated seat so the air hostess checked my ticket looked around and said "You can sit here" pointing to the seat 1 row up š
She did that for a few people, just no fucks given. Love it!
I'm also pleased to say that Nepal does have quite nice coffee. And for the most part the people are so nice and friendly.
I have been getting a few funny looks by some older ladies, not the old dears who I imagine couldn't give a rats arse, but the older (50s) ladies. They kinda sneer when they see me. I think because my hair is very short and my build is tall and not curvy so I look like a boy...
At Changi airport I was even told by a stranger that I was walking into the ladies toilet... I was like yeah.... he did a double take then scurried off. I'll give him a pass, I don't have the most feminine walk and I was dressed like a 90s grunge band member.
Will update when I can, the WiFi is spotty at best but after months and months I have made it. Yay š„³š„³š„³

Love following your exploits. Xx
Glad you made it safe, now the real adventure begins xx
Haha, it's true, you do walk like you just got off a motorbike. Love ya :-) Glad you made it!
