Sawaidee-ka!

Picking up where we left off, I had just spent the night on a beach on Koh Pha Ngan.

Not much happened for the rest of the island stay. I changed rooms, I got a couple nice massages to ease out the kinks from the beach chair.

Then we jumped on a ferry and bus and about 7/8ish hours later we arrived in Phuket.

We did a street tour and visited a night markets, where I ate some silk worms and got a fish massage. That was pretty fun! Weirdest feeling. Kind like putting your feet in some really fizzy coke. The fish start munging away in a frenzy and it feels very... effervescent.

The next day we went to the Phi Phi Islands. Very pretty! I loved snorkelling and seeing the underwater wildlife. I saw lots of pretty little fish, one big long grey fish and a big fat sea slug. Also a shit tonne of sea urchins which sent a ripple over my skin. Sea urchins ick me a little.

We also visited the beach that The Beach was filmed at and Oh My God that was the softest sand I have ever felt in my life. So fine grained. Felt like walking on self raising flour.

It was also on one of these islands one of the tour members (a guy from the US who I absolutely adore) asked me to explain the money situation Aboriginal people get from the goverment...

Yeah, even on holiday I still have to deal with this shit and educate... what pissed me off is he was talking to the other Aussie's on the tour and they confirmed that Aboriginal people get a goverment allowance or somthing. Cunt, the only money we get from the government is the same one anyone can get. In the US it's a bit different, he said, the Native Americans on the reservations get money from the goverment.

Who knows.

But I'm proud of myself because I addressed it maturally and explained that unless you're on Centrelink you are not getting money from the goverment.

Anyways, the next morning I visited an elephant sanctuary and that was a big highlight for me!

These elephants were rescued from logging or tourist places and one of the elephants had a little 9 month old boy and Oh My Heart 🥰

We got to feed the elephants and then scrub them with mud and wash them off. I wasn't expecting to touch the elephants let alone bathe them but they didn't seem to mind and I figure a massage and bath always feels really nice. I of course asked permission first and thanked them later. I know that must sound weird but just because they're animals doesn't mean we shouldn't respect them.

So that was my last day on the tour. That night we went out and saw a ladyboy show and some went out to a Ping Pong Show, I wasn't sure on the ethics of this so I sat out. Me and a couple others went to a really nice beach bar and this old girl managed to stay out until 3am. The last time I did that I was at uni studying for exams!

The Naturist Resort

After my tour I booked myself in to a naturist (nudist) resort.

Why?

Because why not?

I've never been to one before and I enjoy being naked so... I booked myself in and I've been enjoying walking around free hanging.

Swimming naked feels really nice! Highly recommend everyone give that a try.

I went skinny dipping one night at Phan Rang in Vientnam. We were staying at a resort right on the beach and it was past midnight and I couldn't sleep so I decided to go for a midnight skinny dip.

That was also fun!

As you can imagine there are rules. Always sit on a towel. I did wonder about the sitting situation, like did someone come along as soon as you got up and sprayed the seat down with Glen20 or what??

But a towel makes way more sense!

And no public sex.

Unless Scott Adkins or The Bont was gonna rock up that wasn't gonna happen anyway.

It's so respectful here too, if that was a concern for anyone.

I was quite surprised. Whenever I've had a yarn with anyone they've only ever looked at my face. No one has crossed any boundaries. People are very polite here.

A lovely Indian woman saw my toe ring on my right foot and she told me that it meant you were married, so she was curious if I was. I didn't know a toe ring signified marriage in Indian culture.

See, learn something new everyday.

Now, during the tour I had a lot of people ask me if I've had any life epiphanies on my travels.

I've thought about it and the truth is no. I have not had any life epiphanies, but I've felt small changes happening in the way I think and see things.

So there has been no glass shattering moments, more like a stone mason chipping away a peice at a time.

Tonight I fly back to Tassie for 3-4 weeks so I'll be back in January posting from Fiji!!!
