Two Days In Porto

I've only been here two days and it feels like a week!

Porto is beautiful! And quite relaxed if you ignore the road works.

Yesterday was busy, I did a walking tour in the morning and a wine tour in the arvo. Made friends on the wine tour and we went out for beers (note to self, don't follow wine with beers) so I woke up feeling pretty bloody seedy.

I saw the most beautiful bookshop I've ever seen. With rumoured ties to JK Rowling. I did pay the 5 euros to enter and I did buy a book (of which they discounted the ticket price). Sadly they didn't have Treasure Island or 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea but they did have Dracula, and this special little book will accompany me on the Camino!

I saw the most beautiful train station I've ever seen as well. I'm telling you, Porto is beautiful!

I had a custard tart and nearly burnt the roof off my mouth because unlike in Australia they're served hot here.

I've absolutely butchered the Portugese language and can be proud I'm keeping true to the Aussie reputation.

And I've stuffed me guts on traditional Portugese food!

Tomorrow I start the Camino and I'm excited but nervous. I've got my crediencial (Camino passport) and I need at least 2 stamps a day to earn my diploma at the end.

Also got my shell necklace that will hang around my neck as I travel.

I wonder if this is going to be a life changing experience or just a really big trek... 🤔

See I don't want to have expectations because that can lead to disappointment, and I've known too much of that in my life. But I suppose even if it doesn't turn out to be this amazing life changing experience it'll still be an amazing experience!
