Hola peoples!

So the new shoes are turning out to be a God send! I walked 22kms yesterday and although my feet were still in a world of pain and throbbing like a heartbeat it was nowhere like how it has been. Progress!

I seem to have had a shift these last couple days too. Don't know whether it has to do with my boots epiphany or the fact I am less than 100kms from Santiago de Compostela, but I feel a lot lighter.

The walk is still hard and my feet still aching but it's OK now. It's like I've shifted the boulder out of the way instead of pushing it in front of me.

Today was a lovely day. Didn't rain for one. Was a short walk too! And I met two very sweet lovely people in the Winter of their lives. The first was a charming gentleman from Wisconsin. He just made me smile everytime we passed each other.

The other was a lovely lady from Ireland who I sat down and had a beer with while we rested. She was a very interesting person and I hope one day to be as cool as her (she is a campervan nomad!) and she said something that resonated with me.

So yeah, today was a good day.

I also spent a fair bit of time stopping and photographing pretty flowers, of which there are no shortage, and I've even stopped to smell a few.

I also took some time today to check out a giant eucalyptus tree here in town, apparently it's a gigantic tree and a real nice attraction. So I walked the 25 minutes from my hotel keen to see this tree and lay down on the grass...

... yeah so it's not some special tree in a park it's literally just a big eucalyptus growing on a random street, a bougie street but a street all the same. So yeah, there was no grass to lay down on and if I'm brutally honest I've seen bigger.

Also scratched my toe on some stinging nettle 😑.

But I took a selfie anyway and walked the 25 minutes back to my hotel room and did a hot soak for my feet in the bidet coz I'm classy like that.

I have four more days left and I can't wait! But at the same time I don't want it to end. Funny that...
