Hola peoples!
Yesterday I crossed the border and I am back in Spain. Was the easiest border crossing ever. Got a dinghy from Caminha (Portugal) which carried me and 6 other pilgrims for a whole 5 minutes to A Guarda (Spain). Just went from beach to beach. No passport control. No nothing.
And just like that. I was back in Spain
I'm going to miss the Portugese coast. It was bloody beautiful! Gorgeous coast, luscious woods, cute moo cows and a herd of sheep grazing by the side of the road. Where they came from I have not a clue! But they were happy and greedily eating away the vegetation.
Speaking of, I've chucked the vegetarian diet. I needed a good feed and protein and wilting salads just wasn't cutting it! OK not every meal was as bad as that place, but still. I'm walking long days and I'm pretty iron deficient anyway, so meat it is.

Oh yeah, I'm drinking too. I'm sorry but my body is aching and I'm dealing with a virus as well as my own demons and trauma and they don't serve dinner until 8pm. Any sane person would've cracked!
(I realised I didn't specify before but I was going dry for the pilgrimage)
Actually I'm pretty much over the virus now. Yay! I can breath through my nostrils again. I'm so happy. Now I can devote 100% of my energy into really soaking up and appreciating just how much my fucking feet hurt!

As much as I did enjoy Portugal I am so happy to be back in Spain. I can understand and converse easier with the locals here. Plus I think spanish food is nicer. And the coast! Fucking spectacular. Today nearly blew my socks off, but you know, my weeping blisters kept them stuck to my feet.

Was nice to overhear that a fair few other people's feet are suffering too. Not sure how they're also not hobbling from town to town but oh well.
I knew it was going to be hard but didn't think it'd be this bad. I got proper hiking boots and all... but I guess I've never walked days on end before. My poor beautiful feet. I am going to show my vanity here now. I think my feet are quite pretty and have even gotten compliments and admiration from a few men in the past (hence why Only Fans was a thought). And now they are covered in blisters and I'm scared they'll be scarred.
I'm being precious, I know this, but I figure I'm allowed to be.

Oia is a beautiful seaside town. Tiny too. But I'm not going to do any sightseeing other than when I'm walking el Camino. I just don't have the capacity.

The last two days have been short ones thank Christ!
14kms yesterday
13kms today
So I've been able to have a proper rest in my hotel. And the view from my hotel room in Oia is something else.
Adios amigos!

Love the moo cows... Andrew was very touched with what you said re his hands (only read him that bit). Glad you didnt mention my na==hands are looking wrinkly and old. We love you lots xxx
